Uniquest and SMSC built up new business relationship.

May 13, 2004, Uniquest(CEO Charles www.uniquest.co.kr), a local IT solution provider, today announced that Uniquest has signed a distribution agreement with SMSC-Standard Microsystems Corporation(www.smsc.com CEO Steven J. Bilodeau), the world’s leading provider of Real World Connectivity™ solutions.

SMSC delivers products that solve the challenges of space, cost and time-to-market for high-speed computing, connectivity and embedded networking applications. Also, SMSC addresses computing, communications and consumer electronics markets through world-leading positions in Input/Output and non-PCI Ethernet products ; innovations in USB 2.0 and other high-speed serial solutions; and integrated networking products employed in a broad range of applications.

SMSC is uniquely positioned to provide full USB solutions that include silicon, firmware, software drivers and reference designs. In addition to mixed signal design and software support for Hi-Speed USB, SMSC enable new solutions with low power and use of cost effective silicon process nodes. The products of SMSC serve the USB mass storage, hub and transceiver markets.

In the meantime, SMSC’s line of Ethernet products has Ethernet controller and PHY. Ethernet controller is particularly well suited to embedded applications where additional costs can be saved by not requiring a PCI bus.
