Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 companion IC shortlisted for highly-rated U.K. Elektra Awards

The companion IC is nominated in the Internet of Things Product of the Year category and enables developers to leverage Wi-Fi 6’s benefits when developing IoT applications

Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF7002 low power Wi-Fi 6 companion IC—the first in the company’s Wi-Fi product family—has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Internet of Things Product of the Year’ category of the 2023 Elektra Awards. Wi-Fi 6 delivers significant benefits to IoT applications—such as smart home products, industrial sensors, asset trackers, and wearables—including power efficiency gains for battery powered Wi-Fi operation, and management of large IoT networks comprising hundreds of devices.

Technical innovation

Now in its 21st year, the Elektra Awards—organized by U.K. publication Electronics Weekly—celebrate technical, business, and personal achievement in the global electronics industry across 16 categories. A panel of judges, including designers, engineers, and members of the technical media, reviewed submissions based on the product’s degree of technical innovation, performance parameters, and its ability to open up new markets and applications, before deciding to honor Nordic’s nRF7002 companion IC.
