Red Hat Provides Complete Embedded Software Suite, Including Linux, eCos, GNUPro Development Tools, and RedBoot Firmware
SEOUL, Korea, July, 2002 – Red Hat, Inc. (Nasdaq:RHAT), announced that it will provide a complete embedded software suite, including tools, firmware, RTOS and embedded Linux operating system, for the newly UNIQUEST UNIMIPS334 reference board based on the IDT MIPS technology. In addition to providing the development suite for the IDT79RC32334 MIPS platform, Red Hat will be providing ELDS(Embedded Linux Development Suite) for additional UNIQUEST’s Intel? XScale technology-based reference board.

Red Hat’s complete suite of embedded OS, tools and firmware will be available with UNIMIPS334 reference board and includes the following features:
· RedBoot, a comprehensive embedded boot and debug firmware solution
· Fully featured eCos RTOS developers kit, providing open source RTOS and associated libraries
· Fully featured ELDS, including kernel configuration, package management and build tools.
· Device support for board peripherals including Ethernet, Wireless Ethernet (IEEE802.11b), PCI base devices, etc.
· GNUPro compiler tool suite, including C, C++, assembler and associated tools.
