August 20, 2004, Uniquest (CEO Charles Lim, www.uniquest.co.kr) today announced that Infinitek, a sales division of Uniquest in charge of telecommunications and networks, has entered into an agreement to distribute fiber optic solutions from Finisar Corporation (www.finisar.com) in Korea. Finisar, headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, USA is a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data and telecommunication networks. This affiliation was formed to respond to the increased demand for fiber optic transceivers in Korea.
Infinitek will represent Finisar’s comprehensive line of fiber optic transceivers in SFF, SFP, GBIC, 1×9 and XFP form factors. Finisar’s focus on innovative technology has been instrumental in developing one of the broadest lines of optical transceivers in the industry. The transceiver lines are compliant with all Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and SONET/SDH standards and operate at data rates up to 10 Gb/s and reach distances up to 100+ km.
